That is a 2.5-point drop between a game and its sequel, and it goes the wrong way for the player. At 98% the house keeps €2 of every €100 staked; at 95.5% it keeps €4.50 — more than double.
Sequels usually trade return for volatility: less RTP, higher ceiling, bigger swings. Here the newer version simply returns less, and neither game publishes a maximum win to justify the trade. If you are choosing between them on the numbers, the original is the better-priced game by a distance.
