Le Bandit is one of the slots that built Hacksaw Gaming’s reputation outside the Asian-grid circuit. It launched in 2023, is set in a sepia-toned 1940s Paris, and stars a trenchcoat-wearing raccoon thief robbing jewellers while the grid detonates in tumbles. It is a game with a visual identity of its own — rare in a lobby where half the titles are reskins of each other.

Mechanically it is a 6×5 cluster pays grid: you land groups of adjacent matching symbols, they disappear, new ones drop in from above and the chain continues. Underneath that simple base sit the Golden Squares and the Rainbow symbols, which are what separates Le Bandit from any other cluster game.

Is Le Bandit worth playing?

It is for you if you like cluster-and-tumble mechanics but want a less punishing distribution than the genre norm. At medium volatility, this is one of the few premium slots that allows long sessions without demanding a disproportionate balance — and the 96.34% default RTP sits comfortably inside the healthy band of the market. Cluster pays and tumbles: how you win

There are no paylines and no fixed positions to memorise. A group of matching symbols touching each other forms a cluster and pays; the bigger the cluster, the bigger the payout. Then the tumble kicks in: winning symbols leave the grid, the ones above drop down and new ones fill the gaps. If the new layout forms another cluster, it pays again — and the chain only ends when no more wins land.

Golden Squares and Rainbow symbols

This is the part that matters. Two errors about Le Bandit have spread by copy-paste:

The max win is not 19753×. That number shows up on dozens of pages, well-known aggregators included. Hacksaw states 10000× on the official game sheet. The 19753× is most likely a test value or a simulation record someone published as if it were the ceiling — and from there on nobody checked.

The volatility is not high. Hacksaw rates Le Bandit as medium (3 out of 5). The confusion is understandable: the studio has a reputation for brutal maths, and Le Bandit’s look suggests the same. Read the table and Le Bandit’s position is clear: its default RTP is marginally below the Pragmatic Play flagships, but it is the only slot here combining medium volatility with a five-figure ceiling. If the alternative you are weighing is Sugar Rush — the closest comparison, also clusters — the practical difference is not the RTP (0.16 points is not something you feel) but the variance: Sugar Rush punishes harder between bonuses.
