Moon Princess 100: review, 96.2% RTP and up to 15000× max win

Moon Princess 100 is Play’n GO’s 2022 remake of Moon Princess (2017), the anime-styled cluster game that later lent its engine to Rise of Olympus. The three princesses are the same — Love, Star and Storm —, the 5×5 cascading grid is the same, and almost every number that matters has been multiplied.

Is Moon Princess 100 worth playing?

If you liked the original and found its ceiling short, yes. The remake keeps the design intact — bigwinboard’s verdict is that the dynamics are unaffected — and turns up every lever: the multiplier now climbs +1 per cascade up to ×100, the free spins can reach 100, and the ceiling triples to 15,000×.

What you pay is variance. The original was a medium-volatility game; this one is high. Sessions are rougher, and the RTP is three tenths of a point lower.

Verdict: the better game for the tail, the worse one for a quiet session. If you want the gentle version, the 2017 original is still the one.

How it plays

• Clusters of 3 or more matching symbols, horizontally or vertically. The princesses are the premium symbols: five of a kind pays 10× the bet, and mixed princess combinations pay 5×.
• Cascades remove winners and drop new symbols. The multiplier rises +1 after each one, up to ×100.

Girl Power, on a spin that did not win:

• Love changes one set of symbols into another.
• Star adds one or two wilds.
• Storm removes two sets of symbols.

Princess Trinity. Winning combinations of 3, 4 or 5 princess symbols fill one, two or three sections of the meter beside the grid. A full meter awards one special spin: the multiplier resets, and each princess uses her power on losing spins until all three have acted. Clear the grid during it and the free spins start.

Free spins. Choose Love (4 spins), Star (5) or Storm (8). Filling the meter in the round adds 4, 3 or 2 more — up to 100 free spins in total.

Seven princesses, and they are not the same game

The Moon Princess name now covers the original, the 100, Trinity, Extreme, Origins, Power of Love and Stargazing. They share artwork and very little else. Match the name exactly before trusting a number from another page — including ours.

🔴 The 2017 row is the one that matters, and it is the one nobody shows you. The original runs at 96.5% RTP with medium volatility. Every single game built on the name since is 96.2% and high — three tenths of a point cheaper for the player, on a harsher distribution.

So the family did two things at once: it dropped the price and raised the variance, then sold the difference on the top line. Among the seven descendants the ceilings run from 4000× to 50,000× — a factor of twelve and a half — while the RTP moves by nine hundredths of a point across all of them.

What that means for picking one

Within the modern line, choosing by RTP is choosing on noise. Choose by ceiling, because that is what actually differs: Trinity’s 4000× concentrates the least into rare outcomes and gives the steadiest ride of the seven; Extreme’s 50,000× does the opposite. The 100 sits mid-range, and that — not its price — is the honest reason to pick it.

And if what drew you to the name was the 2017 game, note that the thing you remember is not what any of these sell. The original’s combination of 96.5% and medium volatility has not been repeated.
